HUGE WIN - First soccer goal!

Our 6yo scored his first actual goal in his U8 soccer league game today. Might sound small but this kid has been nervous about sports forever and we've been working with him on just trying his best and not worrying about perfection.

He got the ball, looked up, kicked it straight into the net, and I've never seen his face light up like that. Didn't even run to celebrate - just stood there smiling at me and his mom in the stands. Worth every cold Saturday morning at that field.

This is everything. The actual goal is secondary to the fact that he tried even though he was scared. That's the lesson that'll carry him forward. Celebrate that!

This is HUGE though, you're right to celebrate it. A 6yo overcoming nerves to actually score? That's not small - that's him learning that he can do hard things. The work you've been putting in paid off.

The nervous kid who actually pushes through and scores is way cooler than the naturally athletic kid imo. Your son learned persistence. That's literally everything.

Dude this is the win that matters. Not the goal itself but watching your kid overcome the nervousness and just GO. That's what's gonna stick with him. Good parenting right there.

lol small?? That's literally one of the best dad moments. Go get him something special to remember it. He'll never forget his first goal, especially because you were there and it meant something.

Did he get a goal celebration video? My son still watches his first goal video and it genuinely motivates him. The confidence boost from one good experience is wild at that age.

Congrats to your son. Seriously. Getting a nervous kid to try is already a win, but he went further and actually accomplished the thing. You're doing the parenting right.
