I made an offhand comment about visiting the beach "someday in the summer" back in February. Last week she randomly asked "Daddy when is someday? I want the beach."
This kid has the memory of a golden retriever and I'm suddenly very aware that literally everything I say gets filed away. Time to watch my language and my promises lol
This is honestly one of the coolest parts of this age though. They're starting to understand cause and effect and remember promises. It's a lot of responsibility but also kind of amazing.
The scary part is realizing they're listening to EVERYTHING. Makes you think twice about casual comments in the car.
So did you actually go to the beach or is this one of those situations where you're committed now?
This is wild because my 3yo has started doing the same thing. He'll reference conversations from like May and I'm just sitting there wondering how his brain is working. Meanwhile I can't remember what I had for breakfast.

Wait until they start holding you accountable for stuff. My daughter reminded me three months later that I said we could get ice cream after the dentist appointment. I had completely forgotten I said that.
