Kid told me I was his favorite parent today

Nothing crazy happened, we just made breakfast together, goofed around, and watched cartoons. Out of nowhere he goes 'dad you're the best.' Melted my heart. I know this stuff is fleeting and he'll probably prefer mom tomorrow but I'm savoring this one.

Man, those moments hit different. Breakfast and cartoons sounds perfect, sometimes the simplest days are the ones they remember.
