Little victory at the playground today

My 5yo has been scared of the big slide for months. Today he just... went for it? No cajoling, no bribing with ice cream, nothing. Just decided he was ready. Watched him climb up there and slide down and his face when he hit the bottom lol. Immediately wanted to do it again 10 more times. Sometimes they just surprise you when you're not pushing.

That's awesome man. Those little moments hit different. My 6yo finally went down the big slide last month and I got way more excited than he did. You can tell when the confidence just clicks for them.

Love this. So many parents would've pushed or made a big deal out of it. The way you let him come to it in his own time is exactly how you build real confidence.

Months of being scared and then just does it out of nowhere. That's the parenting stuff nobody prepares you for. Proud of your kid.

This made my day just reading it. Been there with my son and you never know when they'll just decide they're ready. Glad he got there on his own.
