My 4 year old asked me to marry her mom again

We've been divorced for 3 years now and co parent pretty well. Today my daughter randomly asked if I was gonna marry mommy again and I said no but that we'll always be a family. She seemed cool with that answer and then asked if she could have a snack. My ex texted me later that she brought it up at her house too and apparently handled it the same way. Feels like we're actually doing something right here.

That's the sweetest thing I've heard all week. Out of the mouths of babes, right? Kids are more aware of what's going on than we give them credit for. Did she understand that you two don't have to get married again to still be her parents?

Four year olds say the most profound things sometimes. The fact that she wanted that shows she loves and trusts both of you guys. That's a parenting win even if the marriage isn't something either of you wants.
