My 5 year old just tied his own shoes for the first time

I've been working with him for like 3 months and today he just did it. No help. The bunny ears loop was perfect. I'm not gonna lie I teared up a little bit watching him. My wife thinks I'm crazy but this is huge. He's been refusing to wear velcro shoes and I wasn't about to carry him everywhere. Today we won.

That's awesome man! Three months of patience paid off. My oldest just nailed this too and I was shocked at how proud he was of himself. It's such a small thing but it really does feel like a milestone.

The bunny ears method is the way to go. My 5 year old finally got it last month and now he insists on doing his own shoes every morning even though we're gonna be late. Worth it though.
