My 5-year-old read his first book all by himself today

This might sound small but my boy just sat down and read the entire 'Frog and Toad' book without help. He's been struggling with reading and we've been doing extra practice but today he just grabbed the book and read it. When he finished he looked at me with the biggest smile. Made me tear up a little. So proud of this kid.

That's not small at all, that's huge! Frog and Toad is perfect for that age too. The sense of accomplishment they feel is real and it gets them excited about reading more. Nice work raising a reader.
