My 5 year old tied his shoes for the first time today

I know this seems small but I've been working with him for months and today he just did it. Both shoes. No help from me. The look on his face when he realized he did it was everything. I'm a grown man and I teared up. These little wins hit different when you're a dad.

That's not small at all man. My son just finally got it last month and I felt the same relief. Months of patience and then boom, one day it just clicks. You crushed it.

Both shoes on the first try is impressive. A lot of kids get one and then lose interest. That persistence from you definitely paid off.

That's genuinely one of the best dad feelings right there. All those practice sessions where they're frustrated and you're frustrated but you keep going anyway. Totally worth it.
