Been working with him on this for months. Today he did both shoes without help and I almost cried in the driveway. He was so proud of himself. These small wins hit different when you're a dad.
That's huge! Seriously, tying shoes is one of those things that sounds small but it's actually a big milestone. You gotta celebrate that. Did he feel as proud as you were?
Congrats! That feeling when they finally get it is incredible. I remember my oldest doing this a couple years ago and I was genuinely emotional about it. The little wins are the best wins.

Almost cried is totally fair. These moments sneak up on you. One day they can't tie their shoes and the next day they just do it and you're thinking about how fast time is flying.
