Okay so context: I literally just gave him a PB&J for lunch and we built a blanket fort. My wife taught him to read, helps with homework, does all the real stuff. But apparently PB&J + fort = favorite parent. I'm riding this high for the next 3 months minimum.
PB&J and blanket forts are literally the cheat code to parenting. My 6yo told me the same thing after I let him stay up 20 minutes past bedtime watching videos. The bar is somehow both impossibly high and hilariously low.
Wait until your wife reads this post lol. Just kidding, but honestly these random "favorite parent" moments are what makes it all worth it. Hold onto this one.
The blanket fort is the secret weapon. I built one on a Tuesday and got declared favorite for the entire week. Now my 7yo expects a new fort every weekend.

That's the dad trifecta right there - simple food, quality time, and a blanket fort. Your wife probably spent the afternoon meal prepping or doing laundry while you were getting the favorite parent crown. These moments are gold though, enjoy it.
