Guys I'm not crying you're crying. He picked out a book about dinosaurs from the library and sat there for like 20 minutes sounding out every word. When he got to the end he looked at me with the biggest smile. This is the best day ever. Already called my parents to tell them.

YES. This feeling right here is why I love being a dad. He picked it out himself too which means he's going to want to keep reading. That's the real victory - not forcing it but actually getting them excited about it. Dinosaurs are such a gateway book.

Dude this is HUGE. Four months in and I'm at those early reading stages with my guy and it's honestly one of the best things I've experienced as a dad so far. There's something about watching them figure out those words. Dinosaurs is the perfect starter book too, so cool.
