My 6 year old just tied his shoes for the first time

Been working with him on this for like 3 months. Today he just did it without asking for help. I know it sounds small but man I got emotional watching him figure it out. He looked up at me so proud of himself. Worth every frustrated moment.

That's huge! Getting emotional is totally legit. As a coach I see this all the time with kids mastering new skills. You should be proud of both of you.

Man, those independent moments get me every time too. Night shift has me working while stuff like this happens sometimes, so when I do catch these wins I'm right there with you on the emotions.

That's not small at all, brother. Three months of patience paying off right there. Those milestones hit different when you're the one who put in the work to get them there.
