My 6yo finally rode his bike without training wheels

Been working with him all summer and today he just took off. Went about 50 feet before he bailed but he got right back up and did it again. Wife was crying happy tears. This is the stuff they don't tell you about being a dad but man it hits different.

That's the spirit right there. My kids learned the same way through trial and error with my woodworking projects, and honestly the resilience they pick up from getting back up matters way more than the skill itself.

That's awesome! The fact that he got back up and tried again is the real win here. My oldest did the same thing this summer and now he's riding all over the neighborhood. You're building some serious confidence in that kid.

50 feet on the first real attempt is solid. Love that he bounced back and went again instead of getting discouraged. Those are the moments that stick with them.
