My 6yo finally rode his bike without training wheels today
I know this is like the most basic dad win but man I'm so hyped. We've been working on this for 6 months and he kept getting frustrated and giving up. Today we went to the parking lot at Peterson Park and after maybe 20 minutes of me holding the seat, he just... kept going. No crash, no tears, just "Dad I'm doing it!" I almost teared up ngl. My wife got it on video and I've watched it like 15 times already. Feeling pretty proud rn.
Hyped for you guys. The 6-month grind makes the payoff so much better. Did he want to keep going or did he call it after that first successful run?
Not basic at all. Getting a kid to push through that frustration and keep trying is literally parenting. Most kids (and adults lol) would've quit way earlier.
