My 7yo beat his personal best at swimming and I'm still emotional
He's been taking lessons all summer and today at practice he swam a full length of the pool freestyle without stopping. His instructor was cheering, the other kids were cheering, I was standing there like an idiot with wet eyes lol. He's not gonna be an Olympic swimmer or whatever but watching him push himself and actually accomplish something he's been working toward... that's the stuff. Already told my wife we're celebrating with ice cream later.
Nothing weird about being emotional. Your kid just did something he couldn't do before because he put in the work and trusted his instructors. That's a big deal. Frame this moment for him so he remembers it.
