My 8yo finally rode his bike without training wheels

We've been working on this for two years. TWO YEARS. Last Saturday I took the training wheels off and just held the back of the seat while he pedaled. Ran alongside him for like 20 feet and then I let go. He didn't even realize I wasn't holding on anymore. Made it 50 feet down the driveway before he stopped. The look on his face when he figured out what happened was everything. We must have done it 100 more times that day. So proud of this kid.

TWO YEARS though! That's dedication right there. My son just got his off last month and I swear I was more nervous than he was. Great job sticking with it.

Nothing beats that moment when they finally get it. My 7yo just did this and I was running behind her like an idiot making sure she didn't wreck even though she had it totally handled.

This is awesome. The training wheels coming off is such a milestone. Did he take off right away or was there some hesitation once they were actually gone?
