We were just sitting in the living room watching cartoons and he randomly said it. No special occasion, no bribe, nothing. Just came out of nowhere. I told him he was the best son ever and we kept watching. Didn't want to make it weird but inside I was beaming. These moments hit different.
Those random moments hit the hardest. My 8yo has said similar stuff and it just puts your whole day in perspective. No grand gesture needed, just being there on the couch is sometimes exactly what they need. Cherish that one.
