My daughter just read her first full book without help

She's 7 and it was a Magic Tree House book. Took her like two weeks of reading a little every night before bed and today she finished it. I asked her what happened at the end and she told me the whole story. I got a little emotional not gonna lie. All those nights where I wasn't sure if the phonics stuff was sticking finally paid off.

Magic Tree House is such a perfect gateway book. That's awesome man. Two weeks of consistent reading is huge at that age.

This is one of those wins that hits different. You stuck with her every night for two weeks and now she gets to feel that accomplishment. She's going to remember that.

My daughter just finished the whole Magic Tree House series and now she's flying through Junie B Jones. Once they get that momentum it's hard to stop them. Did your daughter pick the next book already?
