Picked him up from school and teacher told me he stood up to a bully going after his smaller friend. Didn't fight or anything, just told the kid to leave him alone and stayed with his friend. That's my boy right there. Called my mom immediately to tell her. She cried too.
That's the moment right there. That's what it's all about. Raising a kid who actually has the guts to stand up for someone smaller than him says everything about how you're raising him. Those are the wins that matter way more than a good grade or anything else.

Oh man that's huge. My oldest just started doing stuff like this and it hits different when you realize they're becoming a good person. The teacher calling to tell you about it is even better because they're not doing it for you, they're just doing it because it's right.
