My kid defended his friend at school today

Got a call from the principal and my stomach dropped thinking something bad happened. Turns out my 8yo saw another kid getting bullied and told the bullies to stop. Didn't fight or escalate it, just stood up and said it was wrong. Principal called to tell me how proud they were of him and how rare it is to see kids actually step in for each other. Had to pull over the car because I was getting emotional. Feels like we're doing something right.
