Been watching her work through Super Mario Bros Wonder for like a month now. She got stuck on the last boss and asked for help a few times but I kept telling her to try different things. Today she just crushed it without asking me once. The look on her face when she won was everything. Makes all the whining and controller throwing worth it.
That's awesome man, that patience really paid off. My kids are always wanting me to just beat the hard parts for them, but you're teaching her the real lesson right there.
Respect for holding back and letting her figure it out. Between tournaments every weekend I see a lot of parents just doing stuff for their kids instead of letting them push through.
That's such a cool moment. Watching them push through a tough level and actually beat it without help hits different. She's gonna remember that feeling of figuring it out on her own.
A month of watching her work on one boss is patience I'm not sure I have but I respect it. Did she scream when she finally beat it? My daughter loses her mind when she clears a hard level.

This is the stuff right here. Not the hand holding, but letting them struggle and figure it out. She's learning problem solving and persistence at the same time. Pretty great parenting move just sitting back.
