My kid read their first full book today

I'm not gonna lie, I got a little emotional when my 7 year old finished reading 'Cam Jansen' all by themselves. They've been struggling with reading and we've been working with them every night for months. Watched them get through that last page with zero help and they looked so proud of themselves. That's a win I'm never forgetting.

That's actually the best feeling. My 7 year old just did this with a book series and I was sitting there trying not to tear up. It's like they just opened this whole new door by themselves.

Getting emotional about it is totally normal man. That's a real milestone. Now you've got a reader on your hands and that changes everything about bedtime.
