My kids actually WANT to spend time with me

I know this sounds obvious but I'm realizing as my boys get older that not every dad gets this. They're 9 and 11 now and they still actually want to hang out with me. Call me when they're excited about something, ask me to watch them play, invite me to do stuff. I see some guys whose kids can't wait to get away from them and it breaks my heart. Working hard to make sure this stays this way as they get older because I know it changes. Just grateful for right now.

This is the real win right here. Enjoy every second of it because I've heard from guys in my neighborhood that things change fast around middle school. You're crushing it.

Not obvious at all, and honestly this gives me hope. My kids are 7 and 10 and I worry about hitting that age where I'm suddenly uncool. What are you doing that keeps them interested?

This is gold man. My 9 year old still wants me at his soccer games and I know it won't last forever. Sounds like you're doing something right - keep it up because this phase is precious.
