My kids defended me to their friends

My 9 year old told me one of his friends said dads don't care about their kids like moms do. My son told him 'my dad cares way more and he helps with everything.' Didn't expect that and it hit different. Makes all the long hours and stress feel worth it you know?

That's awesome man. My boys have done the same thing and it hits different when they stand up for you like that. Those moments stick with you.

This is the stuff they won't remember the details of but they'll remember feeling like their dad was worth defending. That's the win right there.
