He's 7 and I've been letting him win sometimes but this time it was legit. He picked the right track, used power ups at exactly the right moment, and crossed the finish line first. I was actually shocked. Made him play again immediately but he didn't win the second round so my pride is still intact haha.
That's awesome man! Those moments when they actually outplay you are the best. My 7-year-old's still figuring out the power-ups but I can tell it's coming soon. Enjoy it while you can before he's destroying you every race.
That's the dream right there. My boys are getting to the age where they're starting to actually beat me at stuff and it's wild. Makes those 6am soccer practices feel worth it somehow.
This is what I'm looking forward to! Right now my kid just mashes buttons and somehow ends up in first place by accident. Can't wait for the day he actually understands strategy.
That's awesome man. 7 is such a good age for that moment. When he realizes he actually beat you fair and square has to feel different than the times you let him win.
Those moments are everything. The pride on their face when they know they actually earned it. That's the stuff you remember.

I'm not even there yet with my daughter but I'm already looking forward to these kinds of wins. Getting beat at your own game by your kid seems like the ultimate dad achievement.
