My son made me breakfast today and it was the sweetest thing
Its Mothers Day this weekend and my 6yo wanted to make breakfast for his mom 'all by myself'. I had to just sit back and let him do it even though I was sweating bullets watching him handle a spatula. He made toast with peanut butter, cereal in a bowl, and microwaved some bacon. It was definitely not gourmet but the effort and focus on his face the whole time was incredible. He was so proud and she loved every second of it. Sometimes the imperfect stuff is really what matters.
That's so sweet. Letting him do it himself even when you're worried it's gonna be messy is the hardest part but also the best part of being a dad.
