My son's soccer game ended 0-0 but he actually kept his head in the game

Been working with him all summer on focus and not getting distracted. He's 9 and tends to daydream in the middle of plays. Today the whole second half he was locked in. Didn't score but made some really smart passes and he was in position. Coach even said something to me after. This kid's gonna be alright. Also I realized I wasn't the annoying dad yelling from the sidelines so that's growth too lol.

The daydreaming thing is so real at that age. Huge props for actually working with him all summer instead of just hoping it fixes itself. A 0-0 game where he stayed locked in is a total dad win.
That's the kind of thing that builds real confidence even if nobody scored. Did you talk to him about it after the game or just let him feel good about it?
