My son scored his first goal in soccer

Been going to practice all season and he was frustrated because he hadn't scored. Today in the game he got the ball, drove it down field, and BOOM right in the net. Whole team went nuts. He ran over to me on the sideline with the biggest smile on his face. We did the biggest hug. Worth every early Saturday morning.

This is what it's all about right here. Showing up to practice, not giving up when things get hard, then getting rewarded for it. Your son learned a real lesson today.

That's awesome! Persistence pays off. My oldest took forever to get that first goal too and when it finally happened I lost it in the stands. The look on his face was priceless.

First goal is such a big deal. All those practices and the frustration leading up to it make the moment so much sweeter. You must have been beaming in the stands.
