My son scored his first goal today

I know soccer is just a sport but watching my 6yo's face when he realized he scored was everything. He ran straight to the sideline looking for me in the crowd. That moment is something I'll never forget. Dude was on cloud nine all day. We grabbed ice cream after and he kept replaying it. This is what it's all about.

That's everything right there. I'm not a big soccer dad but I've seen that same look on my kids' faces when they accomplish something and man, that moment is why we show up every weekend.

Six years old and scoring his first goal. He's gonna remember that forever, especially knowing his dad was in the stands. You got this parenting thing figured out more than you think.

It's not just a sport though. It's confidence, it's learning to work toward something and achieve it. That look on his face was him realizing he's capable. Pretty cool stuff.
