Had a rough conversation with my 16yo daughter about some poor choices she was making. Thought it went terribly. A week later she thanked me for caring enough to say something hard. Said one of her friends told her my daughter was lucky to have a dad who actually paid attention. Man, that hit different. All the tough moments are worth it.
This hits different. Those hard conversations feel awful in the moment but they stick with kids. Sounds like she knew you cared and that's what mattered most.
That's a win right there. Three kids and I'm learning that sometimes they just need to know you're on their side even when you're having to correct them. Really glad that landed for you.
