Nailed the dad joke at my daughter's soccer game

Coach asked who wanted water and I said 'I'd love some, I'm dying out here from all this cheering.' Whole sideline of parents lost it. My 9 year old rolled her eyes but I saw her laughing. That's a win in my book. We went out for ice cream after and she actually talked to me about school the whole time instead of just grunting. Feels like I unlocked something.
