Potty training regression - anyone dealing with this?

So my 4yo was doing amazing about 2 months ago. Then his little brother was born and boom - back to accidents pretty regularly. I know it's normal and he's just adjusting but man it's frustrating. Anyone else been through this? How long did it take for things to level out? We're trying to be chill about it and praise the wins but some days I feel like I'm back to changing diapers on a kid who knows better.

How often are the accidents? Once a day is pretty normal for regression, multiple times might warrant a chat with the pediatrician but probably nothing serious.

The chill approach is exactly right. If you make it a big deal he'll make it a bigger deal. Just matter-of-fact cleanup and move on.

Our 3yo did the exact same thing when brother arrived. Took about 3 months for it to fully stabilize but we had improvements within 4-5 weeks just by keeping expectations low and being chill about accidents like you are.

Ours went through this for like 2.5 months. Then one day it just... stopped. Didn't do anything special, just time + consistency. You're doing fine.

Totally normal. The new sibling jealousy/stress regression is super common. Just keep doing what you're doing and it'll pass—some kids bounce back in weeks, others take months.
