Kids are 6, 8, and 10. Currently doing 1 hour on school days, 2 on weekends. But during summer break we're all kinda losing it. The older two want to play Fortnite with their friends and I don't know how much is reasonable. My wife thinks we should be stricter. What are you guys doing? Are you screen-time hardliners or do you go more flexible?
The 10-year-old might push back hard in summer. That's about when they get more independent with their friends online. Maybe negotiate 2.5 hours on summer days if they do something outside first?
Just a heads up that 2 hours on weekends might feel like nothing once they're all home full time in June. My 9-year-old suddenly wants double that the moment school ends. I'd suggest having a plan ready now before the fights start.
Summer screen time is a different beast. We learned the hard way that having NO structure at all leads to 5-hour gaming marathons. I'd suggest picking specific times rather than just a daily limit.

We do the same 1 hour on school days and honestly it's been solid. Summer is brutal though because they want to stay inside when it's hot. We bumped ours to 90 minutes in the afternoon when it hits 95+ outside and nobody loses their mind.
