Quick question: What's a good age to start piano lessons?

My daughter keeps asking about piano lessons and she's 6. Is that too young? I want to encourage her but also don't want to force something she's not ready for. We don't have a piano at home yet so I'd probably need to rent one or buy a keyboard. Did anyone else start their kids young and have advice?
