My 4yo's favorite shirt got a hole in the armpit after like 3 washes. THREE. It was a $28 shirt. I've seen my jeans last 5+ years and my kids' stuff falls apart in weeks. Is this just how it is or am I washing things wrong? Also why do all these "durable" brands still look destroyed after one season of actual kid wear? I'm not expecting iron man suits but come on.
Could be a washing temperature issue? I learned the hard way that hot water destroys kids clothes. Cold and gentle cycle saved me hundreds in the long run.
This is why I switched to Old Navy and Gap Kids. Still not cheap but they actually last more than a handful of washes. My 4yo has been wearing the same shirts for like 6 months.
Yeah that's crazy. I bought my kids stuff from Target that holds up way better and costs like 1/4 the price. The expensive brands seem to use thinner fabric honestly.
The armpit area always seems to blow out first for some reason. I think it's the fabric weight combined with how much kids move around. Carter's has been more durable for us but still pricey.

Three washes is insane. Have you tried reaching out to the company? A lot of brands will replace stuff like that if you complain about quality. Worth a shot before just eating the $28.
