Review: Owlet Smart Sock 2 - worth it or nah?

Got one for our newborn 3 months ago. Honestly? It's fine but maybe overhyped. The app notifications are frequent (sometimes too frequent - heart rate variations that are totally normal) and the battery dies fast. That said, the peace of mind for first-time dads with a baby is real. If you're a worrier by nature (guilty) it helps you sleep. If you're more chill about things you probably don't need it. $300 is steep though ngl.

the battery thing is what killed it for us. constantly charging it or forgetting to charge it and then panicking. felt like extra stress for peace of mind that wasn't really there

honest review. i think the marketing on these things is better than the actual product. parents want that extra layer of security but then get paranoid about false alerts. caught in a loop

glad someone said this. everyone acts like owlet is essential but honestly old school parenting worked fine - responsive baby monitor and checking on them is probably enough. the data anxiety these devices create isn't worth it

yeah the owlet gets way more hype than it deserves. we had one, the constant alerts about totally normal heart rate fluctuations stressed us OUT instead of calming us down. battery life sucked too

did you end up canceling the subscription or do you still have it? trying to figure out if it's worth keeping after the first few months
