Son took his first steps today and called me first

This morning my 11 month old let go of the couch and walked straight to me. Four wobbly steps but he made it. He looked at me like 'did you see that dad?' and I immediately called my mom, my wife's mom, my brother, all my work friends. Best day of my life so far. He can barely walk and can't even talk yet but somehow he already makes me feel like I'm the best thing in his life. I'm never going to be the same.

Nothing beats that moment when they nail those first steps and look at you like they just conquered the world. Congrats on being the first person he wanted to show off for. That's special.

That's the stuff right there. My oldest did the same thing at 11 months and I swear I got misty eyed watching her beam at me like I'd just hung the moon. You're gonna remember that look forever.

Man that's awesome. Those wobbly first steps hit different when they're coming straight at you. My boys both did their first real walking toward me and it was one of the best moments as a dad.
