Survived the first day of kindergarten without having a breakdown

Dropped my son off for his first day yesterday and I was prepared to be emotional. Wife had tissues ready for me and everything. Got him to his classroom, he gave me a hug, said bye dad and just walked in to check out the toys. Didn't even look back. I was simultaneously so proud and a little hurt but honestly that's exactly what I wanted. He's already talking about all his new friends and telling me stuff I can't even understand. My guy is gonna be fine.

Man, that's awesome! I was the same way dropping my oldest off. Thought I'd be fine and then I'm sitting in the car in the parking lot for like 10 minutes. The wife kept texting me asking if I was okay. You made it through though - that's the real win!

This is huge! Seriously though, getting them to that first day is half the battle. I was way more nervous than my kids ever were. Hope his day went great.

First day of kindergarten is no joke. My son just started and I realized how fast time goes. Sounds like you handled it better than expected though. Did he have a good day at least?
