Thinking about coaching kid sports - advice?
So I'm considering volunteering to coach my 9yo's baseball team. Never played competitively myself but I know the basics and love the game. Is this actually a good idea or am I setting myself up for failure? How much time commitment are we talking? Don't wanna bite off more than I can chew but I also think it could be cool bonding time.
Coaching youth sports is one of the best things I've done as a dad. Your 9yo will remember this forever. Don't overthink the lack of competitive experience, just be the guy who shows up and cares.
My dad coached my baseball team in 4th grade even though he was terrible at baseball. It's still one of my favorite memories. Do it.
