Took 7yo hiking for the first time - actually went well??
We went to this trail near Boulder that everyone said would be too hard for her age but I packed snacks, brought extra water, and didn't push it. Took it slow, let her stop whenever she wanted, and honestly? She crushed it. 3.2 miles, only complained once (fair), and was SO proud of herself at the end. Now she wants to go back. Might've accidentally created a tiny hiker. 10/10 would recommend actually knowing your kid's limits instead of just guessing.
Seven is such a good age for this. Mine's 9 now and I regret not starting sooner. Glad it went well for you guys.
