Took all three kids to the grocery store solo and nobody had a meltdown

I know this sounds ridiculous but I'm genuinely proud. Usually my wife does this because she says it's less chaotic with her. But she had a dentist appointment so I was on dad duty. I let them each pick one snack, gave them a list to help find items, and we were in and out in like 45 minutes with no tears. They even were nice to each other. Maybe I'm getting better at this.

That's genuinely impressive. Grocery store solo with three kids and zero meltdowns is not ridiculous at all, that's actually tactical excellence. You probably earned dad points for a month.
I feel like grocery stores bring out the worst in kids for some reason. You probably had some strategy going in to pull that off - did you go in with a list and stick to it, or just wing it?
