Took My Boys Camping and They Put Away Their Phones

Three days, no cell service. Was worried they'd be miserable but they actually engaged. We built a fire, told stories, fished a little. My 13yo actually talked to me without it being a negotiation. We laughed at stupid jokes. That's the parenting win right there. Reminded me why we do this whole thing.

Three days offline sounds like my dream vacation honestly. How old are your boys? Mine are still at the age where they'd probably freak out by hour two.

This gives me hope. I've got two teenagers and thought camping was going to be nothing but complaints. Maybe I should actually plan a trip.

Building a fire from scratch with them must have been the highlight. That's the kind of stuff they remember forever, not scrolling through their feeds.
