Took my kids camping alone for the first time and didn't burn the camp food

Honestly was nervous as hell about doing this solo but we made it work. Got a fire going, cooked hot dogs and beans, kids slept in the tent, nobody got hurt. The 8yo said it was the best weekend ever. I'm basically a wilderness expert now lol.

Getting a fire going solo with kids watching is stressful because you can't show you're worried. Congrats on keeping it cool and making it work.

This is huge. Solo camping with kids is no joke. Getting that fire to actually cook food on is half the battle. You crushed it.

Dude I did my first solo camping trip last summer and I was terrified too. The fact that you didn't panic and fed them properly means you're ready for anything now.
