My wife had a work thing so I packed up the truck with my 6 and 8 year old and we hit the trail. Made a fire, cooked hot dogs, told ghost stories, and nobody cried or complained. On the drive home my oldest said it was the best day ever. I'm still riding this high 3 days later.
Mad respect. I did this last month and the planning alone almost broke me. The actual trip was way easier than I thought it'd be though.

That's incredible man. Those are the memories they're going to remember forever. I took my kids on a road trip solo last summer and honestly it was one of the best things I've done as a dad.

Solo camping with two kids is legit impressive. Did they sleep okay in the tent or was it rough? My 6 year old still has nightmares about bugs.
