Wife had a work thing so I packed up the tent and took the boys (8 and 5) out to the lake for two nights. No disasters, got a fire going, caught some small fish, and they actually slept through the night. Coming home they both said it was their best weekend ever. I'm still riding that high.
That's awesome man! Solo camping with two young kids is no joke. The fact that you got a fire going and caught fish means you nailed it. Your wife's gonna be so impressed when you get back.
Dude this is goals. I'm still in the phase where I'm terrified to do anything solo with my little one, so seeing this gives me hope. Well done out there.
This is the kind of thing I want to do with my boys. How did you manage getting them to sleep in the tent? My 5 year old would probably be up asking questions all night.
