Why do 7 year olds NEED to narrate every single thing they're doing?
My son does this thing where he's constantly like "And NOW I'm putting my shoe on, and now I'm getting the other shoe, and now I'm tying it..." for literally 20 minutes straight. Is this normal? It's driving me up a wall but also sometimes it's kind of hilarious? Just needed to vent lol
The fact that it's sometimes hilarious means you're processing it right. It IS annoying AND it's kinda cute that his brain is just constantly thinking out loud. You can hold both feelings.
It's totally normal but also 20 minutes of 'and now I'm putting my shoe on' would drive me absolutely up a wall too lol. How do you deal with it when you're trying to focus on something?
