Unpopular opinion maybe but I actually don't mind Cocomelon? Like yeah it's not Shakespeare but my 2yo learns actual things from it and it gives me 15 minutes to shower without a tiny person standing outside the bathroom screaming. The songs get stuck in my head but at least they're not annoying? Or am I just lowering my standards because I'm exhausted
My wife and I used to judge people who let their kids watch it. Then we had twins and suddenly Cocomelon became our third parenting partner. Best thing that ever happened to our sanity.
Unpopular opinion? Brother this is the most popular opinion that nobody admits to having. Every dad I know secretly thanks Cocomelon for those 20 minutes of peace while making breakfast.
Okay but the way they celebrate brushing teeth though? That's genius marketing. My 3yo actually runs to the bathroom now because of Cocomelon. Could Dostoevsky teach me that? No.
The only reason people complain is because they feel guilty. Meanwhile their kids are singing the alphabet and counting and you're sitting there with a coffee. That's the real content right there.
Not unpopular at all. I think people just feel bad admitting they don't mind it because we're supposed to hate all screen time. But my kids learned colors from it and we got peaceful mornings. Call me a bad parent but I'm calling that a W.

The songs are actually catchy enough that you don't want to rip your ears off. That's a win in my book. Some kids' shows sound like a keyboard got dropped in a blender. Cocomelon has production value.
