My 3yo has been using the toilet for like 6 weeks pretty reliably. Then last week we go to daycare and suddenly we're back to square one. He'll ask for a diaper now. Did we mess something up? Is this normal? His older brother never did this regression thing. Trying not to stress about it but also very stressed about it lol.
Three year olds are weird about consistency. One month they're a potty master, next month they want diapers again. It's frustrating but totally normal. Stick with it.
We had this exact issue. Turned out my son was intimidated by the daycare bathroom because it was taller. Bought a smaller seat for home and he was confused about different setups. Once we made them consistent he bounced back.
Daycare regression is super common. Different environment, different routine, maybe different bathroom setup. A lot of kids compartmentalize where they feel comfortable doing their business.
Check if something changed at daycare. New teacher? Different bathroom? Sometimes kids just need time to adjust to a new routine. You're probably fine.
Six weeks of consistency before a regression is actually pretty good at that age. He'll get back there. The fact that he did it once means his body knows how.

Is he stressed about something? Sometimes regression shows up when kids are dealing with anxiety. Might be worth asking his daycare teachers what they've noticed.
