Anyone else's kid play way too much Fortnite?
My 12yo has legit played 6+ hours on weekends. I know I'm the one who said he could buy the Battle Pass but I think I created a monster. He's sneaking downstairs after bedtime to play. Part of me is like "it's just a game" but another part thinks this is genuinely affecting his sleep and mood. How do you guys handle it without being the fun police?
6+ hours is a LOT but the sneaking downstairs after bed is the real issue here. That's not about Fortnite, that's about boundaries. He's testing you. Gotta shut that down fast or it gets worse
The thing about sneaking is he knows he's not supposed to be doing it. That's the actual problem - he's gotten too deep into it. You gotta have a real talk, not just punish. Ask him why the Battle Pass stuff matters so much
Honestly if he's that into it maybe try turning it into a reward? Like he gets weekends if homework and chores are done, but it's still capped at 3 hours. Gives him control back and removes the sneaking incentive
