Apps I use to keep my kids safe online

Just wanted to share what's actually working for us instead of just complaining. We use Apple Families for the basic controls (app limits, content filters, screen time tracking). I also set up google family link since my oldest has an Android tablet. But the biggest help was just having regular conversations with them about what they're doing online. My 10 year old tells me about the roblox games she plays and my 8 year old shows me his youtube videos. I'm not trying to be a spy parent just aware of what's happening. They know I can see their activity and they're cool with it because it's not sneaky. Tech is here to stay so might as well work with it.

Thanks for this. Everyone complains about screen time but nobody talks about actual solutions. Do you set daily time limits with Screen Time or is it more about what apps they can access?

This is actually super helpful. We've been going back and forth on Apple Family vs Google Family Link. How strict do you keep the restrictions? Worried about being too controlling but also need peace of mind.

Apple Families has been solid for us too with three kids at different ages. The app limits feature alone has saved me from so many screen time battles, and I like that it's built in so there's one less thing to manage while working from home.

Apple Family Sharing is solid. We use that plus Screen Time and it gives us peace of mind without making my kids feel like they're under surveillance 24/7. Balance is key.
